What is an Oil Well Lined Tube?

Detailed introduction
Petroleum, as a special product of the energy industry, plays a significant role in China's current national economic structure. Due to factors such as the environment, soil, and transmission media, pipelines can experience wear, corrosion, leaks, and even become unusable, requiring repair or partial replacement. Wear and corrosion are among the primary reasons for metal pipeline damage in the petroleum industry, significantly reducing the pipeline's lifespan and increasing oil production costs. As oilfields are continuously developed, the produced fluid gradually enters a medium to high water-cut phase. The corrosion problem in the oil and gas gathering and transportation pipeline network becomes increasingly severe, seriously affecting the safe production of oil extraction. A lined polymer tubing involves lining a special ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) tube inside a standard steel oil tube. Specialized techniques are used to tightly bond the lining to the oil tube, creating a "tube-in-tube" structure. This lined tubing not only addresses issues of partial wear and corrosion but also reduces the load on the polished rod and stress at the bottom of the sucker rod string due to the low friction coefficient of the developed polymer tube. This extends the sucker rod string's lifespan.

UHMWPE oil well tubing is an alloy material based on a polymer matrix, exhibiting excellent properties such as high wear resistance, impact resistance, environmental stress crack resistance, good self-lubrication, anti-adhesion, and chemical stability. The lined UHMWPE anti-abrasion oil tube lining significantly reduces wear between the sucker rod and the inner wall of the tubing, enhancing the wear resistance and corrosion protection inside the tubing. This substantially reduces downhole failures, extends the inspection pump cycle, and prolongs the service life of the tubing and sucker rod.
